Fine motor skills!
Using LEGO blocks and bricks to play with other peers gives children the same skills they would learn in dramatic play. LEGOs teach children to use basic materials to complete a task. Today in groups of 4, kids were to build LEGO towers based on the color of chart papers given to them. It was an opportunity for them to review colors, have the sense of accomplishment because when they finish they are excited to present it to the teacher. They are also incredibly proud of their towers which is good for their hands as well as good for their heart.
Skittles were taught to print their first name. We were so patient, as this will take practice. They were later on told to try finishing the letters of their names. It was a great practice for them as they scribbled letters on their own.
